Ohio State Will Shine in 2013

The BCS National Championship Game last night — Congratulations Alabama — was the end of the 2012 football season. With the conclusion of the season, football blogs are going to start buzzing about the potential of their favorite teams in 2013. Due to Ohio State's bowl ban, Buckeye fans have already had a lot of time to think about next season. Since I began thinking about the 2013 the second the Michigan game was over, I figured I'd share why I think the Buckeyes will be in next year's Championship Game!

1. Braxton Miller - Miller put up strong rushing numbers this season, but his passing game struggled at times. During the off-season, he is working with quarterback coach George Whitfield Jr. to improve  his passing game, which will make him a bigger threat next season.
2. Urban Meyer - Ohio State has one of the best active college football coaches and he proved it during his first season with the Buckeyes. Many fans knew Ohio State would do better than their 6-7 season in 2011, but Meyer's exceeded expectations by going undefeated this season. 
3. Bowl Ban - If you were bitter about the 2012 bowl ban as a fan, imagine how the players felt. After completing their perfect season, they weren't able to compete against the top teams in the country  which will be a big motivator for the 2013 season.

Buckeye Perfection

Everyone expected Urban Meyer to have a solid first season as the new head coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but I don’t think anybody predicted their undefeated season. Their undefeated season included two overtime games and a couple of close matchups, but the majority of Ohio State’s wins came easily. Sadly the Buckeyes won’t be facing undefeated Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship Game due to their postseason ban. I don’t want to dwell on the fact that Ohio State can’t play in a bowl game this year though. I’m extremely proud of my beloved Buckeyes and am already looking forward to the 2013 season! Between their return starters and a remarkable 2013 recruiting class, Ohio State could potentially have another outstanding season!

However, the 2013 football season is still months away which means it is time to shift my attention to basketball season. The Buckeyes may have lost to Duke in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge, but it looks like they will have a promising season.

With the success of the football program this season and the potentially successful basketball season, there is no better time to show off your Buckeye pride! A Glimpse at the Past

It is well-known that Ohio State has one of the best football programs in the Big Ten! With Urban Meyer taking over as Ohio State's head coach, things will probably only get better! Buckeye fans everywhere are eagerly waiting for the new era that will come with the start of the 2012 season, but first lets take a quick look back at recent seasons in the Big Ten Conference!
